Composite species, based in part (Red Sea) on Alticus magnusi Klausewitz 1964. Lectotype selected by Williams (not researched, possibly unpublished). •Synonym of Alticus saliens (Lacepède 1800) -- (Dor 1984:227 [ref. 29757]). Current status: Synonym of Alticus saliens (Lacepède 1800). Blenniidae: Salariinae. Habitat: marine.

No types known. Type catalog: Bauchot 1967:17 [ref. 20734]. Based on the "Alticus saltatorius" in a manuscript by Philibert Commerson. tridactylus, Blennius Schneider [J. G.] (ex Forster) in Bloch & Schneider 1801:176 [M. E. Blochii, Systema Ichthyologiae; ref. 471] Tana Island [Tanna Island, Vanuatu]. No types known. Based on the jumping blenny ("Blennius saliens") of Forster 1777:v. 2, 343 [ref. 1353]. Name attributable to Schneider, description taken from Forster manuscript (reproduced in Lichtenstein 1844:283-285 [ref. 17531] as "Blennius gobioides"). Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Blennius tridactylus Lacepède 1800. •Synonym of Alticus saliens (Lacepède 1800) -- (Dor 1984:227 [ref. 29757]). •Synonym of Andamia amphibius (Walbaum 1792) -- (Randall & Wheeler 1991:761 [ref. 15994]). 1°Homonym. Current status: Synonym of Andamia amphibius (Walbaum 1792). Blenniidae: Salariinae. Habitat: marine.
