Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Western Cape, Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), East Africa, Seychelles, Madagascar and western Mascarenes (La Réunion, Mauritius) east to Micronesia, north to China, south to Coral Sea (northeastern Australia). Habitat: brackish, marine.
