Holotype: USNM 70250. •Synonym of Amioides polyacanthus (Vaillant 1877) -- (Fraser 2013:26 [ref. 32555]). •Valid as Amioides grossidens (Smith & Radcliffe 1912) -- (Yamanoue 2009:409 [ref. 30548], Mabuchi et al. 2015:39 [ref. 34429]). Current status: Valid as Amioides grossidens (Smith & Radcliffe 1912). Apogonidae: Amioidinae. Distribution: Philippines. Habitat: marine.
