Read at the meeting of 26 Feb. 1855; appeared first in "The Pacific" newspaper, v. 4 (no. 13), 2 Mar. 1855, then in the Proceedings, p. 32 [ref. 159]. •Valid as Anarrhichthys Ayres 1855 -- (Barsukov 1959:106 [ref. 23136] as Anarhichthys, Mecklenburg et al. 2002:781 [ref. 25968], Mecklenburg 2003:3 [ref. 27300], Mecklenburg et al. 2011:129 [ref. 31212]). Current status: Valid as Anarrhichthys Ayres 1855. Anarhichadidae.
