Appeared first as above on 2 Mar.; then in Ayres 1855:31-32 [ref. 159] with additional details. •Valid as Anarrhichthys ocellatus Ayres 1855 -- (Barsukov 1959:107 [ref. 23136] with genus as Anarhichthys, Eschmeyer & Herald 1983:257 [ref. 9277], Matarese et al. 1989:526 [ref. 26885], McAllister 1990:166 [ref. 14674], Mecklenburg et al. 2002:782 [ref. 25968], Mecklenburg 2003:3 [ref. 27300], Nelson et al. 2004:160 [ref. 27807], Love et al. 2005:150 [ref. 37547], Mecklenburg et al. 2011:129 [ref. 31212], Pietsch & Orr 2015:64 [ref. 34694], Kells et al. 2016:290 [ref. 35888], Burton & Lea 2019:87 [ref. 37205], Love et al. 2021:191 [ref. 39279], Page et al. 2023:214 [ref. 40505]).
