Type catalog: Moore & Boardman 1991:11 [ref. 16741]. •Valid as Anchoa mundeoloides (Breder 1928) -- (Whitehead et al. 1988:365 [ref. 5725], Whitehead & Rodriguez-Sánchez in Fischer et al. 1995:1085 [ref. 22829], De La Cruz Agüero et al. 1997:131 [ref. 24545], Castro-Aguirre et al. 1999:128 [ref. 24550], Fuller et al. 1999:40 [ref. 25838], Nelson et al. 2004:66 [ref. 27807], Love et al. 2005:25 [ref. 37547], Page et al. 2013:66 [ref. 32708], Love et al. 2021:42 [ref. 39279], Page et al. 2023:59 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Anchoa mundeoloides (Breder 1928). Engraulidae: Engraulinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Pacific coast of Baja California Sur (Mexico) south to southern Mexico and possibly to Costa Rica, including Gulf of California (Mexico). Habitat: marine.

Holotype: USNM 119799. Paratypes: MCZ 31404 (3), USNM 15102 (4). •Synonym of Anchoa mundeoloides (Breder 1928) -- (Whitehead et al. 1988:365 [ref. 5725], Castro-Aguirre et al. 1999:128 [ref. 24550]). Current status: Synonym of Anchoa mundeoloides (Breder 1928). Engraulidae: Engraulinae. Habitat: marine.
