Type catalog: Bertin & Estève 1950:68 [ref. 19575] as syntypes; technically the figured specimen is the unique holotype if identifiable, Ferraris 2007:220 [ref. 29155]. Name available from plate as above, description in Valenciennes 1847:8 [ref. 5010]. Pl. 7 was published in 1836. See also Valenciennes in Cuvier & Valenciennes 1840:511 [ref. 1008].
