Kottelat 1988:78, 83 [ref. 13380] regards as available from Cuvier, accepting the type designation of Eigenmann & Eigenmann for Anodus Spix [= Agassiz] as designating a type for Anodus Cuvier, and that is incorrect. Cuvier's earlier account is brief, but sufficient to make available, with no included species.
