J.] (ex Hasselquist) 1792:334 [Petri Artedi sueci genera piscium Part 3; ref. 4572] In Mari rubro [erroneous] is Damiatae [Damietta] of Domyāt, Egypt, Mediterranean Sea. No types known. Forgotten name, not used as valid after 1899; therefore reversal of precedence (see Parenti 2013). Based on Perca sp. (vernacular name Luth) of Hasselquist 1762:402 [ref. 18250], also in a rejected work (ICZN Opinion 57). •Synonym of Argyrosomus regius (Asso y del Rio 1801) -- (Parenti 2013:79 [ref. 32381], Parenti 2020:5 [ref. 37439]). Nomen Oblitum. Current status: Synonym of Argyrosomus regius (Asso y del Rio 1801). Sciaenidae. Habitat: brackish, marine. |
