Current status: Valid as Azurina eupalama Heller & Snodgrass 1903. Pomacentridae: Chrominae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Cocos Island (Costa Rica) and Galápagos Islands (Ecuador). IUCN (2022): Critically Endangered; Regionally Extinct at Galapagos (Grove & Victor 2025:12 [ref. 42151]). Habitat: marine.
