Type information: Daget 1984:514 [ref. 23265]. Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:383 [ref. 29155]. According to Daget, this is in error for Pimelodus platypogon Valenciennes 1840, but Daget treats as a separate description with syntypes from India and refers the species to Glyptosternum.
