Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Barbus elongatus Rüppell 1835. •Synonym of Puntius binotatus (Valenciennes 1842) -- (Roberts 1989:61 [ref. 6439]). •Synonym of Barbodes sealei Herre 1933 -- (Kottelat 2013:79 [ref. 32989]). 1°Homonym. Current status: Synonym of Barbodes sealei Herre 1933. Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Habitat: freshwater.

Based on Capoeta elongata Temminck & Schlegel 1846:200, Pl. 100 (fig. 1) [ref. 4374] (not of Rüppell). •Synonym of Gnathopogon elongatus (Temminck & Schlegel 1846), subspecies elongatus -- (Okada 1961:424 [ref. 6363]). Current status: Synonym of Gnathopogon elongatus (Temminck & Schlegel 1846). Gobionidae. Distribution: Japan. Habitat: freshwater.
