Replacement name for Barbus nicholsi Vinciguerra 1928, preoccupied by Barbus nicholsi Myers 1924. The species is named for Vinciguerra (a man). The spelling vinciguerrae is acceptable, we suggest using vinciguerrae when the species is treated as valid. The name is perhaps preoccupied by Barbus vinciguerraii Pfeffer 1896. 1°Homonym.
