Lectotype selected by Hopson & Hopson 1965 [ref. 22244]. •Synonym of Barbus ablabes (Bleeker 1863) -- (Lévêque & Daget 1984:219 [ref. 6186] as spurelli, Lévêque 1989:176 [ref. 12829] as spurelli, Lévèque et al. 1991:140 [ref. 31367] as spurelli). •Synonym of Enteromius ablabes (Bleeker 1863) -- (Hayes & Armbruster 2017:351 [ref. 35417]). Current status: Synonym of Enteromius ablabes (Bleeker 1863). Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Habitat: freshwater.
