Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:102 [ref. 12291] with a paratype. •Valid as Bassozetus elongatus Smith & Radcliffe 1913 -- (Nielsen 1997:56 [ref. 23255], Nielsen & Cohen in Nielsen et al. 1999:57 [ref. 24448], Nielsen 1999:1980 [ref. 24753], Nielsen & Merrett 2000:25 [ref. 24949]). •Synonym of Bassozetus compressus (Günther 1878) -- (Tomiyama et al. 2015:223 [ref. 35430]).
