Paratypes: AMNH 56143 (6), ASIO 84111-16 (6), BMNH 1985.9.23.6-10 (5). •Synonym of Bathygobius meggitti (Hora & Mukerji 1936) -- (Sadovy & Cornish 2000:242 [ref. 25480] as meggetti). •Valid as Bathygobius hongkongensis Lam 1986 -- (Hoda & Goren 1990:149 [ref. 16589], Nakabo 2000:1221 [ref. 25182], Nakabo 2002:1221 [ref. 26193], Motomura et al. 2010:206 [ref. 31256], Prokofiev 2016:644 [ref. 35020] with author as Chiu, Parenti 2021:102 [ref. 38603]). Current status: Valid as Bathygobius hongkongensis Lam 1986. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Hong Kong (China). Habitat: marine.

Paratypes: TAU [= SMNHTAU] 10185-86 (1, 1); CEMBP (67). Appeared first as name only in Hoda 1981:25, Proc. Second Pakistan Congress of Zoology. •Valid as Bathygobius karachiensis Hoda & Goren 1990 -- (Manilo & Bogorodsky 2003:S118 [ref. 27377], Parenti 2021:102 [ref. 38603]). •Synonym of Bathygobius meggitti (Hora & Mukerji 1936) -- (Larson 2022:51 [ref. 39971]).
