Holotype: CAS-SU 3327 (apparently lost). Paratypes: USNM 48681 (1). •Synonym of Bathylagus pacificus Gilbert 1890 -- (Mecklenburg et al. 2002:153 [ref. 25968], Parin et al. 2014:108 [ref. 33547]). Current status: Uncertain as Bathylagus pacificus Gilbert 1890. Bathylagidae. Habitat: marine.
