Habitat: marine.

pectoralis, Harpe Gill [T. N.] 1862:141 [Proceedings of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia v. 14 (nos 3-4); ref. 1662] Cape San Lucas, Baja California, Mexico. Syntypes: USNM 2988 (3) [2 specimens moved to USNM 218000 then back to 2988]. Spelled pectorallis in the original description, but that was apparently in error for pectoralis, the spelling used by subsequent workers. •Synonym of Bodianus diplotaenia (Gill 1862) -- (Parenti & Randall 2000:5 [ref. 24943], Gomon 2006:94 [ref. 28730]). Current status: Synonym of Bodianus diplotaenia (Gill 1862). Labridae. Habitat: marine.
