Current status: Valid as Bodianus rubrisos Gomon 2006. Labridae. Distribution: Red Sea; Indo-West Pacific: Bali (Indonesia); Philippines and Taiwan north to Ryukyu Islands and Kagoshima Prefecture (Japan); Northern Territory (Australia); probably more widespread. Habitat: marine.
