Holotype: BSMP (presumed destroyed). Paratypes: ?BMNH 1933.3.11.205-207 (3); BSMP (probably 29) presumed destroyed. •Synonym of Hippichthys heptagonus Bleeker 1849 -- (Dawson 1978:136 [ref. 7026], Dawson 1985:98 [ref. 6541], Dawson 1986:282 [ref. 6201], Kuiter 2009:277 [ref. 30404], Kottelat 2013:303 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Hippichthys heptagonus Bleeker 1849. Syngnathidae: Syngnathinae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
