The entire description of the genus and species is, "A third [genus] resembling Boöps, he named Baiodon fasciatus. Typically this would be regarded as not available, no distinguishing features provided; from Lake Nicaragua. However, Kullander & Hartel 1996:199 [ref. 22732] treated as available but unidentifiable. •Genus inquirendum in Cichlidae -- (Kullander in Reis et al. 2003:646 [ref. 27061]). Current status: Uncertain. Cichlidae.
