Paratypes: CAS 82353 (1); TISTR 2667 (1). •Valid as Botia splendida Roberts 1995 -- (Doi 1997:16 [ref. 22832], Kottelat 2001:89 [ref. 25780], Grant 2001:6 [ref. 28264]). •Valid as Yasuhikotakia splendida (Roberts 1995) -- (Nalbant 2002:317 [ref. 27361], Kottelat 2004:14 [ref. 27360], Kottelat 2012:20 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2013:176 [ref. 32989], Taki et al. 2021:198 [ref. 39830]). Current status: Valid as Yasuhikotakia splendida (Roberts 1995). Botiidae: Botiinae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Xe Kong and Mun River drainages, southern Laos and Thailand. Habitat: freshwater.
