Correct spelling for genus is Aluterus. •Valid as Brachaluteres baueri (Richardson 1846) -- (Hutchins1977:54 [ref. 2283], Dor 1984:279 [ref. 29757], Goren & Dor 1994:73 [ref. 25356]). •Synonym of Brachaluteres jacksonianus (Quoy & Gaimard 1824) -- (Allen et al. 2006:1883 [ref. 29098]). Current status: Synonym of Brachaluteres jacksonianus (Quoy & Gaimard 1824). Monacanthidae. Habitat: marine.

Paratypes: MBSH uncat. (2). •Synonym of Brachaluteres baueri (Richardson 1846), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Dor 1984:279 [ref. 29757], Goren & Dor 1994:73 [ref. 25356]). •Valid as Brachaluteres fahaqa Clark & Gohar 1953 -- (Matsuura 2014:11 [ref. 33576], Bogorodsky & Randall 2018:[7] 245 [ref. 36492], Golani & Fricke 2018:179 [ref. 36273], Hutchins 2022:432 [ref. 40252]). Current status: Valid as Brachaluteres fahaqa Clark & Gohar 1953. Monacanthidae. Distribution: Northern Red Sea endemic. Habitat: marine.
