Current status: Valid as Brachyrhaphis olomina (Meek 1914). Poeciliidae: Poeciliinae. Distribution: Central America: Pacific and Atlantic slopes (Costa Rica; Nicaragua). Habitat: freshwater.

Paralectotypes: BMNH 1909.3.13.48-53 (6), 1909.3.13.55-56 (2). Lectotype selected by Bussing 1998:205 [ref. 24179]; the six syntypes, BMNH 1909.3.13.48-53 from Volcán Tenorio, are a different species B. olomina Meek. •Valid as Brachyrhaphis rhabdophora (Regan 1908) -- (Rosen & Bailey 1963:89 [ref. 7067], Bussing 1987:134 [ref. 22927], Reznick et al. 1993 [ref. 20309] as Brachyraphis, Mojica et al. 1997:301 [ref. 22823], Meyer & Etzel 1998:156 [ref. 23986] as Brachyraphis, Bussing 1998:203 [ref. 24179], Lucinda & Reis 2005:38 [ref. 29205], Angulo et al. 2013:996 [ref. 33194], Meyer 2015:31 [ref. 34698], Huber 2019:52 [ref. 36941]). Current status: Valid as Brachyrhaphis rhabdophora (Regan 1908). Poeciliidae: Poeciliinae. Distribution: Pirris and Terraba regions, Costa Rica. Habitat: freshwater.
