Current status: Valid as Bregmaceros rarisquamosus Munro 1950. Bregmacerotidae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman east to Palau and Papua New Guinea, north to Philippines, south to northern Australia. Habitat: marine.
