Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:83 [ref. 13621], Gilbert 1998:113 [ref. 23395]. •Synonym of Campostoma anomalum (Rafinesque 1820), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Gilbert 1998:113 [ref. 23395], Holm & Grossman 2001:157 [ref. 25429], Ross et al. 2001:128 [ref. 25978], Page & Burr 2011:195 [ref. 31215]). Current status: Synonym of Campostoma anomalum (Rafinesque 1820). Leuciscidae: Pogonichthyinae. Distribution: North Carolina and South Carolina [subspecies michauxi]. Habitat: freshwater.
