Treated as a possible senior synonym of Carangoides (e.g., by Smith-Vaniz 1986:641 [ref. 5718]) but with wrong type. With type as above, Citula would be a senior synonym of Pseudocaranx, and the ICZN should be petitioned to conserve Pseudocaranx -- (Smith-Vaniz & Jelks 2006:98 [ref. 28900]).
