Catla buchanani Valenciennes is an unneeded substitute for C. catla. Spelled Catlas by Agassiz 1845:12 [ref. 4889] and 1846:68 [ref. 64]. •Objective synonym of Gibelion Heckel 1843. •Valid as Catla Valenciennes 1844 -- (Jayaram 1981:131 [ref. 6497], Kottelat 1989:6 [ref. 13605], Ataur Rahman 1989:138 [ref. 24860], Ataur Rahman 2003:157 [ref. 31338]). •Valid as Gibelion Heckel 1843 -- (Kottelat 2013:107 [ref. 32989]). •Synonym of Labeo Cuvier 1816. Species misspelled Cyprinus catta by Heckel. Type designated by Jordan 1919:211 [ref. 2410]. Apparently predates Catla Valenciennes 1844, and would be valid as Gibelion Heckel 1843. •Valid as Gibelion Heckel 1943 -- (Kottelat 2013:107 [ref. 32989]). •Synonym of Labeo Cuvier 1816 -- (Yang et al. 2012:369 [ref. 33458]). Current status: Synonym of Labeo Cuvier 1816. Cyprinidae: Labeoninae.

Tambra (subgenus of Hypselobarbus) Bleeker [P.] 1860:275, 311, 312 [Acta Societatis Regiae Scientiarum Indo-Neêrlandicae v. 7 (art. 2); ref. 380] Fem. Cyprinus abramioides Sykes 1839. Type by monotypy. Appeared first as name only in Bleeker 1860:430 [ref. 370]. Description dates to Bleeker 1860 as above, with one species included in subgenus. Treated as feminine (Art. 30.2.4). •Synonym of Catla Valenciennes 1844 -- (Bănărescu 1997:27 [ref. 23274]). •Synonym of Labeo Cuvier 1816 -- (Kottelat 2013:114 [ref. 32989] with question). Current status: Synonym of Labeo Cuvier 1816. Cyprinidae: Labeoninae.
