Neotype: BMNH 2021.10.4.1 (eviscerated). Also appeared in Rafinesque 1810:45 [ref. 3595] as Squalus uyatus. Böhlke 1984:158 [ref. 13621] regards Bonaparte's 1834 [ref. 517] Spinax uyatus as a new name proposal and lists ANSP 483 as holotype. V.] 2008:12, Figs. 8-10 [CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research Paper No. 022; ref. 29674] South-west of Coffin Bay, South Australia, 35°14'S, 134°29'E, depth 30-600 meters. Holotype: CSIRO H 6628-05. Paratypes: AMS I 44310-001 (1); CSIRO H 6628-01 to -04 and -07 (6); NMV A 29736-001 (1). Plus non-type material at CSIRO. Named after the vessel Zeehaan. •Valid as Centrophorus zeehaani White, Ebert & Compagno 2008 -- (Naylor et al. 2012:60 [ref. 32267] see remarks, White et al. 2013:65 [ref. 33033], Weigmann 2016:55 [ref. 34211], Kumar et al. 2018:295 [ref. 36178], Carneiro et al. 2019:37 [ref. 37250] as cf. zeehaani). •Synonym of Centrophorus uyato (Rafinesque 1810) -- (White et al. 2022:18 [ref. 39402]).
