New name for, or incorrect subsequent spelling of Chaetodon mesoleucas Bloch. •Treated as synonym of Chaetodontoplus mesoleucus (Bloch 1787) -- (Allen 1980:250 [ref. 22764]). oahuensis, Holacanthus bicolor var. Borodin [N. A.] 1930:56 [Bulletin Vanderbilt Marine Museum v. 1 (art. 2); ref. 16069] Oahu Island, Hawaiian Islands. Holotype (unique): VMM 637 (now at AMNH). Described as a new color variety. •Synonym of Chaetodontoplus mesoleucus (Bloch 1787) -- (Mundy 2005:406 [ref. 28379], Randall & Rocha 2009:518 [ref. 30410]).
