Lectotype: NMW 47219 (9 cm). Paralectotypes: NMW 47219 (1, not 9 cm). Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:231 [ref. 29155]. Original genus is correctly Chaetostoma. Current status: Valid as Chaetostoma taczanowskii Steindachner 1882. Loricariidae: Hypostominae. Distribution: Ecuador and Peru. Habitat: freshwater.
