Also appeared in more detail in Smith 1954:203, Fig. 2 [ref. 4091]. Lectotype established by Smith 1954:203 (see Gill & Edwards 2004:22 [ref. 28143]). •Valid as Chlidichthys johnvoelckeri Smith 1953 -- (Lubbock 1977:13 [ref. 7039], Dor 1984:105 [ref. 29757], Smith 1986:540 [ref. 5712], Goren & Dor 1994:28 [ref. 25356], Gill & Edwards 2004:20 [ref. 28143], Gill 2022:128 [ref. 39748]). Current status: Valid as Chlidichthys johnvoelckeri Smith 1953. Pseudochromidae: Pseudoplesiopinae. Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: East Africa (Tanzania, Mozambique) and Comoros. Habitat: marine.
