Secondary homonym of Herichthys underwoodi Regan 1906 when both species are in "Tomocichla". •Synonym of Cichlasoma tuba Meek 1912 -- (Conkel 1993:162 [ref. 22949]). •Valid as Theraps underwoodi (Regan 1908) -- (Bussing 1998:376 [ref. 24179]). •Synonym of Tomocichla tuba (Meek 1912) -- (Burgess 2000:54 [ref. 24818], Kullander in Reis et al. 2003:645 [ref. 27061], Říčan et al. 2016:30 [ref. 34357]). 2°Homonym.
