Paratypes: USNM (2). Type catalog: Ho & Shao 2011:26 [ref. 31432]. Original type lot [84168] contained 3 specimens, and Bănărescu 1972:254 [ref. 23551] designated the largest as lectotype. This was not needed; holotype is 84168 on email from David G. Smith, Oct. 2017. •Synonym of Cirrhinus molitorella (Valenciennes 1844) -- (Wu et al. 1977:353 [ref. 4807], Mai 1978:76 [ref. 13511] as Cirrhina, Roberts 1997:193 [ref. 23550], Zhang et al. in Yue 2000:201 [ref. 25272], Ho & Shao 2011:26 [ref. 31432], Kottelat 2013:88 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Cirrhinus molitorella (Valenciennes 1844). Cyprinidae: Labeoninae. Habitat: freshwater.
