Holotype: CAS 91756. Paratypes: ANSP 172554 (2); CAS 91757-60 (27, 4, 15, 9), 91762 (6); USNM 331212 (2). Non-type material: CAS 91761 (26). •Valid as Gymnostomus ornatipinnis (Roberts 1997) -- (Kottelat 2013:108 [ref. 32989]). •Valid as Henicorhynchus ornatipinnis (Roberts 1997) -- (Kottelat 2001:54 [ref. 25780], Ciccotto & Page 2020:495 [ref. 37710], Nguyen et al. 2020:92 [ref. 37750], Taki et al. 2021:165 [ref. 39830]). Current status: Valid as Henicorhynchus ornatipinnis (Roberts 1997). Cyprinidae: Labeoninae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Mekong River basin, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. Habitat: freshwater.
