Current status: Valid as Coccotropsis gymnoderma (Gilchrist 1906). Synanceiidae: Tetraroginae. Distribution: Southeastern Atlantic and western Indian Ocean: Western Cape and eastern Cape (South Africa). Habitat: marine.
