Spelled Oligopus by Risso 1810 [ref. 3755], but species included by Risso are in a different family; Oligopus Risso regarded as available by Cohen 1964 [ref. 5145] with different type than Oligopodus Lacepède (contrary to Art. 33.2.3); if Oligopus Risso is an unjustified emendation of Oligopodus then it is automatically a junior objective synonym of Oligopodus.
