Paralectotypes: MCZ 18587 (1), 61903 [ex 28588] (2). Original genus should have been Macrourus. Originally as boöps. Lectotype selected by Iwamoto & Sazonov 1988:53 [ref. 6228]. •Valid as Coryphaenoides boops (Garman 1899) -- (Iwamoto & Sazonov 1988:53 [ref. 6228], Iwamoto in Cohen et al. 1990:201 [ref. 18936], Iwamoto & Schneider in Fischer et al. 1995:1261 [ref. 22830], Iwamoto & McCosker 2001:27 [ref. 25777], Castellanos-Galindo et al. 2006:196 [ref. 28944], McCosker & Rosenblatt 2010:189 [ref. 30957]). Current status: Valid as Coryphaenoides boops (Garman 1899). Macrouridae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific. Habitat: marine.
