Lectotype: MNHN 1886-0182. Paralectotypes: (5) MNHN 1886-0181 (1), 1886-0184 to 0186 (1, 1, 1). Type catalog: Bailly et al. 1999:232 [ref. 24244] wrongly with a holotype. Original genus should have been Macrourus. Lectotype selected by Eschmeyer 1998:1812 [ref. 23416].
