Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), East Africa, Seychelles, Comoros, Madagascar and Mascarenes (Mauritius) east to Hawaiian Islands (U.S.A.) and Marquesas Islands (French Polynesia), north to Kagoshima Prefecture (southern Japan) and Ogasawara Islands (Japan), south to Lord Howe Island (Australia), New Caledonia and Tonga.
