Holotype: USNM 51722. Paratypes: CAS-SU 8724 (1). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:60 [ref. 12291]. Original genus should have been Corythoichthys. •Synonym of Corythoichthys flavofasciatus (Rüppell 1838) -- (Dawson 1977:306 [ref. 7048], Dawson 1985:39 [ref. 6541]). Current status: Synonym of Corythoichthys flavofasciatus (Rüppell 1838). Syngnathidae: Syngnathinae. Habitat: marine.
