Lectotype established by Jordan & Evermann 1896:325 [ref. 2443]; also designated by Gilbert 1998:88 [ref. 23395]. •Synonym of Couesius plumbeus (Agassiz 1850), but a valid subspecies -- (Lee et al. 1980:150 [ref. 22416], Gilbert 1998:89 [ref. 23395]). •Synonym of Couesius plumbeus (Agassiz 1850) -- (Scott & Crossman 1998:406 [ref. 24570], McPhail 2007:66 [ref. 31199]).
