Type designated by Eigenmann 1910:435 [ref. 1224]. •Synonym of Bryconops Kner 1858, but a valid subgenus Creatochanes as described -- (Géry 1977:435 [ref. 1597], Taphorn 1992:143 [ref. 23654], Machado-Allison et al. 1993:3 [ref. 22035], Chernoff et al. 1994:240 [ref. 22044], Chernoff & Machado-Allison 1999:359 [ref. 24235], Chernoff et al. 2002:199 [ref. 26532], Buckup in Reis et al. 2003:119 [ref. 27061], Chernoff & Machado-Allison 2005:20 [ref. 28573], Mirande 2010:487 [ref. 31006] in Bryconops clade, Wingert & Malabarba 2011:471 [ref. 31515], Silva-Oliveira et al. 2018:373 [ref. 36284]). Current status: Synonym of Bryconops Kner 1858. Iguanodectidae.
