Spelled 2 ways originally, burmanicas (p. 324) and burmanicus (on p. 319); Kottelat serves as first reviser, selecting the spelling burmanicus and treating it as a specific name. Based mostly on Mukerji 1934:52. Secondarily preoccupied in Cirrhinus by Cirrhinus horai Lakshmanan 1966, replaced by and objective synonym of Cirrhinus lu Roberts 1997. •Synonym of Crossocheilus burmanicus Hora 1936 -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:414 [ref. 20764]). •Valid as Crossocheilus horai Bănărescu 1986 -- (Menon & Jacob 1996:62 [ref. 22482], Su et al. 2000:215 [ref. 25281]). •Valid as Henicorhynchus horai (Bănărescu 1986) -- (Nguyen et al. 2020:92 [ref. 37750]). •Valid as Gymnostomus horai (Bănărescu 1986) -- (Kottelat 2003:400 [ref. 27358], Kottelat 2013:108 [ref. 32989], Kano et al. 2016:9 [ref. 34887], Ciccotto & Page 2020:498 [ref. 37710], Fuke et al. 2021:[3] [ref. 38221]). 2°Homonym.
