The specific name oxyrhynchus is a noun. •Valid as Ctenopoma oxyrhynchum (Boulenger 1902) -- (Gosse 1986:412 [ref. 6194], Vierke 1986:53 [ref. 36452], Vierke 1988:83 [ref. 36453]). •Synonym of Ctenopoma weeksii Boulenger 1896. Current status: Synonym of Ctenopoma weeksii Boulenger 1896. Anabantidae. Habitat: freshwater.

Holotype (unique): BMNH 1898.3.19.16. Ctenopoma weeksii placed on Official List to conserve over Ctenopoma oxyrhynchum. •Synonym of Ctenopoma maculatum Thominot 1886 -- (Gosse 1986:408 [ref. 6194]). •Valid as Ctenopoma weeksii Boulenger 1896 -- (Britz & Cambray 2001:280 [ref. 25647], Stiassny et al. 2021:1688 [ref. 39000], Fermon et al. 2022:228 [ref. 39448] with question). Current status: Valid as Ctenopoma weeksii Boulenger 1896. Anabantidae. Distribution: Central Africa: middle and upper Congo River system (Democratic Republic of Congo). Habitat: freshwater.
