Type by monotypy. Kner placed his new species molossus in the established genus Cynopotamus but suggested it might represent a distinct genus for which he proposed Lycodon. Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Lycodon Fitzinger 1826 in Reptilia. •Synonym of Roestes Günther 1864 -- (Menezes 1974:219 [ref. 7129], Menezes & Lucena 1998:285 [ref. 23657], Toledo-Piza in Reis et al. 2003:236 [ref. 27061], Torrente-Vilara et al. 2008:103 [ref. 29867]). 1°Homonym. Described in key (p. 345) as a section or subgenus of Anacyrtus with corresponding single species on p. 347. Treated as masculine, Art. 30.2.4.
