Neotype: USNM 210625. Type catalog: Springer & Orrell 1996:15-16 [ref. 22274]. Based on Dactyloscopus sp. of Jordan & Gilbert 1882:628; single type specimen not found. Neotype designated by Dawson 1975:20 [ref. 7121]. •Valid as Dactyloscopus zelotes Jordan & Gilbert 1896 -- (Dawson 1975:20 [ref. 7121], Patzner et al. 2009:472 [ref. 30396]).
