Dasibatis Agassiz 1846:117 [ref. 64] is an unjustified emendation. As a section of Raja; apparently only one species mentioned by name. Uroxis Rafinesque [C. S.] 1810:48, 61 [Indice d'ittiologia siciliana; ref. 3595] Masc. Dasyatis ujo Rafinesque 1810. Type by monotypy. If ref. 3595 was published before Rafinescue 1810 [ref. 3594] then the type species is Uroxis ujus by monotypy, if the reverse then the type is Dasyatis ujo. Treated as masculine (Art. 30.2.4). •Objective synonym of Dasyatis Rafinesque 1810 -- (Krefft & Stehmann 1973:70 [ref. 7167], Compagno & Roberts 1984:4 [ref. 6167], Kottelat 2013:25 [ref. 32989]).
