Current status: Valid as Dentex angolensis Poll & Maul 1953. Sparidae. Distribution: Eastern Atlantic: Morocco south to Angola. Habitat: marine.

Syntypes: (3) MNHN 1985-0583 (2). Spelled poli on p. 468 and polli on p. 469; named for M.
