Current status: Valid as Dentex hypselosomus Bleeker 1854. Sparidae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: China and Taiwan north to southern Korea and Japan. Habitat: marine.

Current status: Valid as Dentex spariformis Ogilby 1910. Sparidae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Queensland (Australia) and Indonesia. Habitat: marine.
